Speaking little and only saying that which is good is the manhaj of the mu'min

Narrated Al-Mugheerah ibn Shu‘bah (RadiyAllaahu ‘an-hu): Allaah’s Messenger (SalAllahu alaihi wa Salam) said, “Allaah has made unlawful for you disobedience to your mothers, burying your daughters alive, holding back (what Allah has ordered), and demanding (what you are not entitled to); and He hates for you engaging in gossip, asking many questions (about what is not necessary & begging), and squandering wealth.” [Agreed upon].

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-Uthaimeen (May Allaah Have Mercy Upon him), said:
‘...and He hates for you engaging in gossip...’, this means: Such and such was said (by someone, without mentioning who actually said it), and so-and-so (mentioning the name of the speaker) said such and such.
Is the meaning (intended here): Too much delving into (the affairs of) the people, and what has been said about so-and-so, and what has been said by the people; or the (intended) meaning is transmitting something without confirmation (of the truth of it)?
Both of these (are intended). Allah hates that a person has no concern (about anything) except Qeela wa Qaala (i.e. gossip)...

And from the benefits of this Hadeeth is that Allaah detests Qeela wa Qaala (i.e. gossip). For this reason, it is narrated in the Hadeeth of the Prophet (SallAllaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) that he said: ‘Whoever believes in Allaah and the Last Day, then he must say that which is khair (good) or he must remain silent.’ [al- Bukhaaree]
From the completion and perfection of your Emaan (true faith) is that you do not speak except to say that which is khair (good).
And the amazing thing is that whoever makes this his manhaj (regular manner of behavior, character) – he will be saved from a lot of sharr (evil, harm and injury).
[On the other hand], whoever does a lot of talking, will make a lot of errors and mistakes; while whoever speaks little, and whenever he does speak, he does not say anything except that which is khair (good) – this one is al-Mu’min (the believer), and this one is as-Saalim (the one who is safe, unharmed)...
