Ash Shaykh Yahya Ibn Ali Al Hajooree حفظه الله was asked,
The prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said "The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others" is it if as an innovator memorizes the Quran then he is better than the Salafi who did not memorize the Quran?
The answer, The Quran is either proof for you of proof against you, and the people of desires the Quran is proof against them, because the Quran commands with adherence and with guidance and they are not guided (The people if desires) so if he memorized the Quran and the 6 books of Hadeeth all of it with proficiency and he is an innovator then he is not except and innovator disobedient and wicked, and it maybe that a man from the Orientalist memorizes the Quran stronger than some of those who are righteous, not to act in accordance with it rather to challenge in regards to it.
